So proud to have been involved in this 'portrait of success' feature in the #sundayobserver yesterday. Photographed outside the #foundlingmuseum. Lemm Sissay, poet and performer, and the Foundling Museum put this project together highlighting the positive stories behind people brought up either in care, fostered or like me, adopted. Everyone in this picture has gone on to be successful in their chosen field proving that even though you may not have been brought up by your blood parents, there is still a world of opportunity out there. As I have said before, I was adopted with my brother and raised in a white family with plenty of love around. They set me on my path in the world of antiques for which I am truly grateful. Our blood family also kept in touch with us which helped enormously, knowing where our roots came from. Contrary to the article which stated I was born in Grenada, I was actually born in London!
