If you have been thinking about going to the gym, starting your fitness journey, feel intimidated by the gym, need motivation, this is for you.
Going to the gym for the first time is never easy, but everyone has been there. The first time I went to the gym I had no idea what I was doing. I didnāt know how to use any of the machines, didnāt know how much weight to start with, and didnāt know proper form for anything.
The best thing you can do before going into the gym is researching videos by certified trainers on proper form (this is why I personally feel uncomfortable teaching others because I may not know proper form either & I would never want someone to get injured because I am not educated in that way). It is okay to start with no weight, it is okay to focus on what is comfortable for your body first. Never feel like you have to know exactly what youāre doing in the gym every time you go in there, because truthfully I donāt either.š
Keep your focus on you & try not to compare yourself to others. We are all built different due to so many things we can not control. Focus on the things you can control to make progress such as your diet, duration of your work out, progressive overload, how often you workout out, etc.
Itās okay to take a break if your body needs it. Listen to your body. I have always had a hard time with this because my mind was telling me āif you donāt go to the gym this one day, youāre going to lose all of your progressā. Sometimes your body needs a break in order to come back stronger, listen to what your body tells you.
