One of my favorite things about burning man is to express myself through my outfits, which sometimes it takes months planning, and making it myself. ( I love crafting) being able to wear whatever I want or nothing at all had always been a such joy. But, I’ve been trolled for positing my outfits on Instagram, and also got told I was someone’s inspiration for their next years fashion.
I even was accused of using burning man to sell my brand. LOL which is completely untrue. I never tagged or mentioned It in any of my posts or even at the event. I wasn’t there to work! lol
Now I need to few bad because i have my own business??
I mean I’m a little flattered, cuz if some guy thought I was selling my products by posting a pic of my outfit at burning man I must be doing something right. LOL
I’m actually hurt that some people still judge and misconstruct me by my appearance.
I respect, understand and follow all principles.
This was my 4th burn and by far the most challenging physically, mentally and emotionally for me.
By the contrary that some people might be thinking I’m not there just for photos, and that’s why my favorite moments I have no record of it.
Im there to bond and connect with my friends, meet new people, to dance and do workshops, to gift, to help, to let go. To take in the art, to ponder on the messages that is sending us, and this year most importantly was to see the temple burn as I say goodbye to loved ones.
I helped build my camp, cooked for everyone multiple times, and participated in multiple chores before, during and after the burn with my camps organization. Drove my f**** RV was stuck in line for hours to get in and out like everyone else.
So for all the people that are so quick to judge by one’s appearance you should ask yourself if you are being a true vessel of the burning man principles, because I’m pretty sure respecting peoples self expression and art form is included on that.
The first principle should it say it all!
Radical inclusion: Anyone may be a part of Burning Man. We welcome and respect the stranger. No prerequisites exist for participation in our community.
