I have a notebook from 2018 that I still reference often. It reminds me to do the most basic things when I start to feel overwhelmed like filling up my water cup, making a nourishing meal, stepping outside to feel the sun, or unplugging for a few hours. Even though they’re simple things, they’re important things. They are the reminders I need to pour back into myself so I can come back and continue to show up for the people around me. Keep doing the simple things and know it’s okay to take care of you while you carry what’s heavy.
