Everything you need to know about Mount rainier snowshoeing The biggest thing to know is that the road to Paradise is only open Saturday and Sunday this year due to staffing issues. You MUST carry tire chains or risk being cited. Additionally, the gate to Paradise at Longmire opens at 9 and closes at 4pm. This means you gotta be driving down around 3:40pm. Now, to the hikes: - the most popular are to Panorama point and Mazama ridge. We did panorama point (1/15) as the rangers said some snow bridges were unstable towards Mazama ridge/the skyline loop trail. You also don’t have to get all the way to panorama point. There’s a good packed trail going up and allows you to adventure. - There are other trails but im not too knowledgeable on those. - make sure to look into avalanche risk/dangers to stay safe I would not recommend going without snowshoes as the snow is deep and you’ll be post-holing. - - - - #mtrainier #snowshoeing #pnwadventures #nationalparks
