I wrote the lyrics to this not long after I got home from Afghanistan. One of my biggest fears was that when we would go on patrol, any bump in the road could be a pressure plate IED that could kill you instantly. And that's just one of the things that could cause your end. When I came home I started to really educate myself on why America seemed to be at war constantly. Why we were risking young people's lives and ending so many others. What I learned from history sickened me, so I left it all behind. I'm still proud of my service in some ways, but I view it with a tempered reverence now. It is something not to be glorified. On a lighter note, this video footage is from us headlining Athfest in front of about 3000 people last summer.
