So happy to finally see the long-overdue first retrospective of #FujikoNakaya outside Japan at Munich’s @haus_der_kunst. From her earliest fog sculpture at Expo 70 in Osaka, she’s been doing phenomenological art since practically before the term was invented, alongside incredible videos, drawings and other work. (The show also has a section on her father #UkichiroNakaya, famous for creating the first artificial snow crystals in the 1930s). I’ve been fortunate to have gotten to know her a little while trying to commission her to make a permanent fog sculpture in Hong Kong (which sadly didn’t happen) and later in rural China (which is still in the works! 🤞). She is amazing.
