BRCA SUPPORT GROUP 🧬 On the 18th October at 5.30pm I will be hosting a BRCA Support Group at Future Dreams House in Kings Cross, London. This is for anyone with the BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene mutation who might want to meet others and chat through their experiences and options and find support in a safe space. Finding out I carried the BRCA1 gene mutation was a devastating day for me and brought with it so much fear. I cried more the day I found out about having the BRCA1 mutation than the day I was diagnosed. I knew immediately it meant I would have to consider having my ovaries removed as the age this is recommended for BRCA1 gene mutation carriers is 40, and that it leaves my children with a 50/50 chance of carrying the gene mutation too. A thought that is incredibly painful for me to consider but an important thing for me to process too. I would love to meet others and connect to empower one another to feel stronger together.
