Capoeira: The Art of Resistance. @GayTimes. In 2018, I traveled to Brazil when Bolsanaro was first elected into office. During my time there, I photographed the sport of Capoeira and was deeply inspired by the cultural power and political parallels it represented. Upon my return I published the images in GayTimes Magazine alongside a story about exactly that: A beautiful country facing an impending oppression in the wake of a new government, and what the sport of capoeira stood for both historically, and still: resistance.
