Skylar McDavid is a sophomore music education major, in his first year year as drum major, and second year overall in @wsucmb. How do you prepare for gameday? “My preparation for gameday always starts the night before, making sure my uniform is in order. I need to make sure my clear bag has all necessary supplies, such as: athletic tape, snacks, whistle, gloves, etc.” How do you prepare for gameday? “Sleep is most important for me when it comes to game day because call time for the band is always 6 hours before kickoff, meaning I'll need as much energy as I can get. In addition, I'll always have a large glass of water before bed and when I wake up.” What’s your favorite part of gameday? “My favorite part of gameday is when we win or lose, we always get to play the fight song with the team. However, it's a lot more thrilling when we win 😂. “ What’s a misconception about drum majors you’d like to correct? “Misconceptions about drum majors... we don't play the drums... it's just the name. Anything else you’d like to add? “College gameday atmospheres are the most exciting part of college football and college life in general.
