Revisiting our teenage #twinpower as ongoing research for “Upstairs, In Our Bedroom”, a new multimedia performance about twins by twins — in collaboration with @susanmarlandau & @peggypiacenza. • This little gem was recently digitized and shared with us by our friend mentor, Joan Phillips, who choreographed this piece on us as students of the Claude Watson Arts Program at Earl Haig Secondary School. • Joan introduced these baby bunheads to postmodernism in addition to many other contemporary and experimental influences. We’ve come a long way . . . ! ! ! • • VD: In a studio with a black curtained wall and hardwood flooring, Hilary and Briana dance a short duet in and out of unison that is comprised of high jumps, turns, rolls to the ground, and hand gestures. They are identically costumed in short olive green jumpsuits and are barefoot.
