The Story Of A Woman Is One Of Fire Directed by @amy_becker_b Produced by me Featuring the Amazing @thececiliajoy For our Film ‘Story Of A Womxn’ 👑 Cecilia was born with a heart condition and waited 11 years to get a heart transplant. Following that at the age of 12 she also had to undergo a kidney transplant. An unbelievable trauma to have to endure for someone so young. In later years at the age of 14 Cecelia was then diagnosed with brain and spinal cancer. Cecilia’s scars are beautiful because they tell the story of her survival and strength. They are a significant part of her lived experience, a physical manifestation of her resilience and healing. There’s still so much stigma around anything that falls outside of the very narrow and blemish free ‘beauty’ narrative and @thececiliajoy is an advocate for changing that. They don’t define her but they show her bravery and what she’s overcome.
