Miss World Canada raises money for Beauty with a Purpose - Jaime VandenBerg to climb Pico de Orizaba to raise awareness for gender based violence Miss World Canada 2021, Jaime VandenBerg’s Beauty with a Purpose project focuses on women empowerment and gender equality. Jaime created Canada Herstory, a multi-faceted empowerment platform to encourage young women to follow their dreams in a safe and supportive manner. To raise money for her Beauty with a Purpose campaign, Jaime will be attempting to climb Pico de Orizaba, the highest peak in Mexico, on 9th July. As she trains for the summit, Jaime has been raising awareness for gender-based violence. All money raised from the climb will support two different women’s organizations, Lethbridge YWCA in Canada and Fundación Origen in Mexico. Lethbridge YWCA offers programs and services that focus on enhancing women's lives, empowering them, supporting equality and promoting wellness in mind, body, and spirit. Fundación Origen was founded by Mariana Baños Reynaud to help break the patterns of violence and poverty suffered by women in Mexico.
