Last night at the Los Angeles Premiere of “Around Robin” that I had the honor of scoring- more photos coming soon! 🎥 🎶 Today was my first day back in almost-full work mode playing catchup after over 2 months of malfunctioning/struggling with depression and having a serious third life crisis, then finally resetting with a sabbatical. Business & personal spreadsheets are finally updated and now about to start a little evening practice for a recording session tomorrow with some rather fast 188 BPM cello-ing! I'm looking forward to getting back into the flow and catching up on a serious backlog of to-do’s with recording sessions over this 3 day weekend for a Superhero Film, an Apple TV series, and a Horror Movie as well as filming for an upcoming Video Game release, scheduling PR for a Netflix TV Series release, interviews, new consultation sessions, and logistical shenanigans with paperwork/invoices to send... and prepping for private corporate performances coming up this Fall. 😅 I'll try to not burn myself out again and find a balance moving forward. I also feel guilty for previously being a major proponent of the glorification of over-working. While I do think it’s important to focus 1000% while in building mode and fully committing to the dream, I personally reached a point where it was no longer sustainable. I sacrificed so many things in order to give everything to my career and my art... I know it’s subjective to the individual but upon reaching a point where obsessively focus on career and hitting metrics I set for myself to only feel no sense of contentment, I found myself drowning in a cloud of pervasive emptiness and questioned what I was doing it all for. Yes, I love music and love what I do- but it had swallowed every other part of my own human experience- and there is so much I want to explore. I also realized that there is more value to me as a person outside of my work and the things I achieve. 🙏🏼 (Continued in comments ⬇️)
