Krishnadas @krishnadasmusic and the kirtanwallah team opened the weekend retreat with KD today in New York at the St. Paul and St. Andrew Church (KD’s living room as he playfully says) and what a treat! KD dropped several new bhajans, mantra compositions including one in Marathi (yay), one more that came to him recently at Radha Kund in Vrindavan and this special one which is KD’s ode to his spiritual brother KK!!! It was hilarious how KD made sure we all heard the original and then his version both, his ways of expressing love are so precious! KK Sah and Krishna Das were spiritual brothers, united by their devotion to the Guru, Neem Karoli Baba (Maharajji). KK was an Indian devotee and translator who helped introduce Krishna Das to Maharajji, while Krishna Das became a renowned kirtan singer who helped popularize Indian devotional music in the West. KK Sah’s one style of singing the Maha mantra was honored by Krishna Das today.
