I can’t even begin to list ALLL the batshit things my students (and myself) have been told by “well meaning” people on reasons why we shouldn’t pursue our careers to the fullest. Sit down. If you don’t have evidence based facts to share in order to help some reach their higher goal... sit down. Stop telling hairdressers (mostly women) that they can’t own businesses, hire people, market themselves, raise families, sign leases, buy houses, take vacations, get out of debt, and make more money.
