Calling all artists! MDLT is excited to be a part of a new effort to #ProtectCADeserts. Indigenous artists, Riverside county locals, and students are encouraged to submit a logo design that captures their love for the California deserts. 🌄 Within the Colorado Desert is a region of palm oases, rocky mountain ranges, and lush desert woodlands with unique plants and threatened wildlife. These are the ancestral homelands of many Tribes since time immemorial. Without durable protections, these lands are under threat. The Mojave Desert Land Trust is working with conservation partners to preserve this region in Riverside and Imperial Counties by establishing Chuckwalla National Monument - a site that will celebrate wildlife connectivity and the protection of rare flora and fauna while honoring regional farmworkers. Submit your design for a chance to have your logo featured on Protect California Deserts campaign materials and receive a cash prize of $500 for the winning design.
