📣 Visual and Performing Arts Students! My name is Mason Alldredge (he/him/his), and I am running for reelection to the USAO Student Government Association representing the School of Visual and Performing Arts! For the last year, I have had the distinguished honor of representing the Visual and Performing Arts Ward of SGA. During my time in the senate, I authored and co-authored over fifteen pieces of legislation, tackling issues of accessibility, equality, funding, and many other areas of concern. Though much progress was made for the visual and performing artists of USAO last year, I feel there is still work to be done. I am eager to continue this work. If elected as your senator, I will listen to your needs. I am a proud member of every Visual and Performing Arts club and organization on campus. My constituents’ needs are at the forefront of every piece of legislation I author, and I promise to have an open ear and make your ideas reality. Above all, and perhaps most important to me, is providing much needed representation for the arts at USAO. The arts are inherently viewed as “extra” or “optional”. Yet, the arts are essential. They are fundamental to who we are as people and as an institution. Representation matters, and I will be a proud steward of our programs.
