2022 has been my most prolific year to date with 125+ shoots and still counting. There’s truly no way to summarize this year in 10 images and 2k characters. Some were jobs and some were personal. Some were multi-day campaigns that lasted weeks with pre and post production, and others lasted less than an hour with another 45 minutes of post. I found myself shooting in a range of spaces with a range of cameras. I went through a moment where all my gear broke down: at one point 3 cameras broke within a week along with 2 flashes. It was an extremely expensive week. I was inspired by home, my grandma and her passing, Z-Wave creatives, and Ai’s impending arrival. I’ve also never experienced stress or anxiety like I have this year. There’s a range of reasons for this that I won’t get in to, but meditation saved me once again. Meditation is the savior for creatives with ADHD. I think the highlight has been the people. Some of the people were well known with millions of followers and work that I guarantee you know, and some were completely anonymous individuals with less than 500 followers or no social media presence at all. I haven’t posted work from about 1/4th of the people I’ve shot and won’t release that until the right time. I also worked a lot with families this year and that’s been incredibly rewarding. It’s been fun to be on set with people who love each other unconditionally. I’m better at screening out people who come to me for the wrong reasons. I’m better at standing up for myself and explaining what I will and won’t do. I’m better at staying quiet and staying in my lane. I’m better at dealing with online hate, harassment, and more. These improvements all derived from events that were truly uncomfortable but very valuable lessons. The school of life never stops serving homework. Overall I have had less desire to be controversial or provocative toward the latter half of the year. I worked with quite a few people who dabbled in controversy so I felt I could finally take a break myself. I could focus on good work through vibes and moods even more. The year is ending on some really good ups and positive momentum. I’d consider the year a complete success
