Earlier this month, I posted a series of (now viral) videos about AREA, the nightclub Shawn Hausman co-founded. It changed themes every six weeks, ran like a film set, and sent out elaborate invites. AREA existed before the internet, and its best details live in stories, not search results. Some of them even surfaced in my comments, but I kept digging for more and eventually Shawn and I got on the phone.
