This is first time I’ve opened up to a journalist about the specific incident that triggered me, at the most visceral level, to leave my corporate career for my creative passions. I was adamantly trying to pursue both paths at the same time, living two distinct lives and working myself to the ground. My mind was convincing me to stay in my lane and fulfill a life others expected of me, but my body was pulling me in the complete opposite direction, into the unknown. One day, my system said, “Enough.” I had a seizure, was diagnosed with epilepsy, and had to make a choice.
