Who is Gabrielle Chanel? Follow my page to get more inspiration ✨ So who is she, Gabrielle Chanel? For me, it’s pure inspiration! 1. She was a cabaret singer at first The only money she earned was singing at a café-concert where she accumulated cash when the plate was passed among the audience in appreciation of her performance. 2. Coco, who? Gabrielle Chanel acquired the name “Coco” during her singing years. When she became identified with two popular songs,” Ko Ko Ri Ko” and “Qui qu’a vu Coco”. Later, she tells everyone that Coco is the nickname given to her by her father. 3. She launched the first designer perfume Coco Chanel gave us the most famous perfume, Chanel No.5. The scent was launched in 1921 and had its place in history secured when Marilyn Monroe was asked what she wore to bed, and she answered, “Just a few drops of Chanel No 5′′. It was called Chanel No five, as it was the 5th scent from her samples. She was pretty simple with the names of her products. 4. Each element we see in Chanel collections is related to Gabrielle herself: lion, stars, black and gold colours, the overlap of two letters C, etc. 5. Chanel No. 5’s early marketing strategy in the 1920s was simple: Coco Chanel would invite rich people over for dinner and give away free perfume bottles. She would also spray the perfume around all of her boutiques so that shoppers began to associate her brand with the signature scent. Afterwards, the brand still uses celebrators and creates movies for the perfume ads. It’s crazy how this brand was able to overcome several decades and still be the top luxury brand in the market. As a marketer, I see Chanel as a brand with a solid identity, positioning and value. All her initial designs are still popular among the younger and older generations. As Coco once said: « Simplicity, elegance and comfort » are what we can see nowadays.
