WE SAID WE NEEDED A SPECIALIST CHARITY FOR BLACK WOMEN MARGINALISED THROUGH DOMESTIC ABUSE. @hackneycouncil said it wasn't necessary, so would not support us. WE DID IT ANYWAY and founded the SISTAH SPACE the 1st specialist charity of its kind. WE SAID WE NEEDED A NEW INITIATIVE, A "CHARITY' SHOP THAT ONLY STOCKS BRAND NEW ITEMS. People couldn't understand the concept of abuse survivors being considered for nice new things reflecting positively on trauma. WE DID IT ANYWAY. WE ARE FUNDRAISING FOR A SPECIFIC REFUGE/SAFE SPACE 'SOMEWHERE THAT'S GREEN'. They said, we didn't need one, that we'd never achieve it. WRONG AGAIN! WE ARE JUST £94,000 away from PURCHASING THAT SAFE SPACE. yes, it's taken us over 6yrs to raise the funds, BUT WE'VE SHOWN IT'S ACHIEVABLE. WE HOPE TO BE ABLE TO GET SEVERAL SURVIVORS AND THEIR CHILDREN TO HAVE THEIR FIRST BREAK BY XMAS 2022 TO THESE WHO DOUBT US, WE CAN'T FAIL, BECAUSE FAILING WILL COST LIVES. SO PLEASE GET BEHIND US.
