Excited to announce the release of a collaboration project I did with @ashleychaang for @localwolves — “Weekends at the Card House” 🙆🏻‍♀️🀄️ This project is certainly a passion project for both of us that’s been in the making since last August! We wanted to recreate our childhoods growing up with our families gathering every week to play Mahjong and Sì Sè Pái (Four Color Cards; equivalent Vietnamese game is tứ sắc). The goal was to embody the way we watched the adults joke around, gossip, bicker, and laugh over a game or two with some dinner— at the same time being able to respect the struggles and individual hardships of one another. It portrays a sense of pride and togetherness that no matter how many different Asian cultures there are, we are all immigrants who came to America with almost nothing trying to better their lives for their kids and family.
