📅 July 21, 2021: One year ago today... ✍🏽...I handed in my resignation to my corporate executive job 📦...I began packing our lives into boxes preparing for the move from Toronto to Los Angeles 😫...I worried that my children would resent me for moving them away from the only friends, home and school they’ve ever known 🔙...I feared that our lifestyle would need to take a step backward, and it would be my fault because I wasn’t making the corporate $$ that helped us what we had 🤔...I wondered if my decision to pursue fulfillment over security was selfish, and if I could live up to my own expectations 📆 July 21, 2022: On this day today... 🏡...We just closed on our dream home in Los Angeles 🇨🇦 ...With the support of my parents, our kids are in Canada this summer, reconnecting to their family and friends after a year of thriving in their new school (that’s why they aren’t here for moving day 😢) 💰...I do work that I genuinely love while making more money than ever before 🎨...I spend more time than ever NOT working so that I can explore new hobbies, be present for my family, and build new relationships 👩🏽‍💼...I am expanding my team and clientele with talented and professional women of color who inspire me every day 🙏🏽I’m so grateful to @chrismorrison33 for being my rock and project managing this whole transition. To @shanboody and @enjoyjaredbrady for supporting us through the transition and acquisition. To my parents @yourtravelwitholivia & @briboo1958 for being a sounding board and helping with the kids. To @xoshaydavis (our friend and real estate agent) and @mrjustdavis for walking us into a vision last December that triggered it all. And finally to all my friends and followers who have provided their kind words of support and cheered us on throughout the journey! Life on July 21st, 2021 was scary, unknown and hopeful. Life on July 21st, 2022 is more than I thought possible! 🤯
