When I step into a room of celebrities, athletes, billionaires, deca- and centi- millionaires, as I will tomorrow when I welcome more than 100 @unclenearest investors who took a HUGE risk on my leadership and ability to execute my business plan, I do so with nothing but excitement. Fear never enters my mind and I don’t even know what imposter syndrome means... When I take a stage, I do so with complete confidence. Every time. Not because I am the smartest person in the room. I intentionally make sure that is NEVER the case. But simply because I know I BELONG in every room in which my feet touch. Anyone who has ever encountered me knows I have an unusual confidence. It is not a confidence in my ability to do things based solely on my own abilities. When I walk into a room, you see me. But if you look into my eyes, you will see the strength of my ~388,000 ancestors who arrived on these shores (the number of enslaved Africans who made it to the U.S. through the horrid Middle Passages). They were the strongest of the strong — physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. When you see me, do not see me.
