Reigning Miss World Kenya, Sharon Obara and Mr World Kenya, Frank Asoyo attended the Conquering Cancer Movie Screening organised by Kilele Health. The event brought together survivors, caregivers and activists of cervical cancer. Reigning Mr World Kenya, Frank Asoyo was a guest speaker at the event. After losing his father to cancer in 2017, Frank is a certified cancer champion by the Ministry of Health. He spoke on the important role that friends and family play in the patient’s recovery process and the work that we can all do to improve recovery. On the event, Sharon said: “I got to attend the Conquering Cancer movie screening by Kilele Health and it was very eye-opening. As a mental health advocate, I equally go big on physical wellness because physical and mental illnesses are often comorbidities.” Sharon was one of the six Beauty with a Purpose winners at the 70th Miss World for her outstanding work as a Mental Health Advocate. She also raises awareness on the importance of early screening cervical cancer amongst young girls.
