The Sailor and the Siren Direction and Performance: @anetherealbooth and @melika.o.o.o.o.o.oooo Soundscape @ruinedquality Assistance and Polaroids by @bruta1ism Photography @davepurgas Performed at @undergrowth_collective REBIRTH event, 14th April, 2022 Hosted by @lupalu_x Our performance tells the journey of a lost sailor and siren who after sinking deep into sea end up inside the stomach of a whale, within the whale’s stomach the two metamorphose into a chimera, once incubated, they burst out of the whale’s stomach and sail away as a married spirit. The performance was a roaming soundscape and figurative performance, which begun within the venue and finished on a boat, which we sailed off on. The image of the boat came very spontaneously upon visiting the venue, Lucrezia had told us about a boat, to which we immediately thought that it would be an amazing setting for our performance. Performing at this venue was an incredibly memorable experience. And I want to thank my lovely siblings, and absolutely everyone present, especially those who helped us keep the boat stable while climbing on. This is so far my favourite performance that I have been involved in making, the setting alone made it a spiritually lively experience for me, especially as we took off in the boat.
