Ischia rocks 🪨💦 Took a water taxi around the island of Ischia and as we we passed by some of the most spectacular cliffs and voncanic hot springs bubbling up under the sea, I wished we had a geologist with us to explain it all. An hour or so later I’m drinking my cappuccino in the @clubscannella rock pool, and we get chatting to a local man who’s entire family tree comes from Ischia and happens to be a geologist who’s full time job is researching the island! He explained that where we were sitting is the most ancient part of the area and that these rocks existed long before the island was formed. He chiselled some of the volcanic rocks away to show us the obsidian inside and we floated around learning about the volcano and the hot springs. A real gift and a reminder that everyone you meet has something to teach you ♥️
