What we are eating Christmas Morning Part 1 🎄This overnight French Toast Casserole is simply delicious. Made with brioche, blueberries, pecans and lots of cinnamon sugar — see the full recipe below and check back for Part 2 featuring my Mom’s Crustless Quiche.
Ingredients
- 1 loaf of challah
- 5 eggs
- 2 1/2 cups whole milk
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 3/4 cups brown sugar
- 3 tbs melted butter
- 1 cup pecans
- 1 1/2 cups frozen blueberries
Instructions
- toast slices of bread in oven for 10 minutes at 275 to dry them out
- remove bread from oven and allow them to cool before arranging them in a buttered baking dish
- In a bowl, whisk the milk, eggs, nutmeg, 1 tsp of cinnamon, 1/2 cup of the brown sugar and vanilla
- Cover and leave overnight in refrigerator or for a few hours
- In the morning mix the remaining tsp of cinnamon and brown sugar and sprinkle over the top. Drizzle the melted butter
- Sprinkle on the blueberries and pecans
- Bake for 30 to 40 minutes at 400 degrees
