Earlier this year @WWF_Australia effectively created 100,000 sq km of refuge where dugong, inshore dolphins and turtles can be free from commercial gill nets. They did this by buying and then shelving the commercial net fishing licences, a smart and practical way to remove the threat of gill nets from a section of the reef incredibly important for threatened species.
