This past week we attended the ✨Japanese Craft Spirits Experience✨- an exclusive event to learn and explore Japanese distilled spirits, hosted by The Consulate General of Japan in LA and Japan House LA. . There were seminars, workshops, and tastings to learn everything from history, production, and recipes involving shochu & awamori! 🧠⚡️ Our presenters included Toshio Ueno (principal and founder of Sake School of America), Tom Liu (head bartender @ Thunderbolt LA), Matthew Belanger (gm @ Death&Company), and Naoto Yonezawa (founder @ Kuramoto Ice) 👨‍🏫 . Shochu & awamori are distilled spirits (like whiskey, brandy, or vodka).
