« I don’t know why people are so surprised by finding out that I spend 12 hrs. on social media. » - you will usually hear from the SMM manager.
In fact, It can be up to 18/20 hours per day! Imagine. It’s a job that requites lots of time and energy.
I get offended when people describe an SMM manager as a « girl who manages our social media channels » and the “girl whom I can text during any time, and she will and must respond because it is an easy job ».
Let me tell you about who is, in fact, the SMM manager🤍
1. It is the person who is responsible for planning, implementing, managing and monitoring the company’s/ blogger’s Social Media strategy to increase brand awareness, improve marketing efforts and increase sales.
2. Excellent Social Media Presence Doesn’t Directly Affect Sales - SMM manager needs to analyse the target audience, competitors and market to create a strategy that will sell. Of course, visual is a plus, but not the core.
3. Facebook is already supersaturated. Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, and Pinterest are moderately saturated. LinkedIn and TikTok are getting more and more saturated every day. So SMM manager develops a unique strategy for each social media channel, and it is not repetitive.
4. You Need a Lot of Content for Maximum Exposure - guess who is making all this content? Of course, SMM manager and their team. Together they develop content for each social media channel.
5. Each social media platform has its rights and rules. So, if something goes wrong - the SMM manager will be in charge.
6. The bloggers and businesses expect to see results immediately, and they get pissed at SMM management. Even when you have a lot of money to blow on your social media, you still need time. You can put out 1,000 pieces of content in a week. You will need time because momentum is gathered gradually.
