In 2014, an inflatable sculpture resembling a “b*tt plug" was installed in Paris' Place Vendôme. The sculpture, titled "Tree," was approved by various organizations overseeing public art installations, but it was vandalized less than a day after its installation. Images of the sculpture circulated on social media, and the sculpture was eventually unhooked from its air source and had its support cables cut.
