Stats and celebration π
Iβve finally fully processed my race from two weeks ago and Iβm returning to a normal training schedule, feeling good! The brain needs recovery as much as the body. Even though it was tough, Iβm happy I finished and have lots of lessons learned to take with me into the next race π
So here are those stats:
π 50 miles
π11,800 ft of gain!
π Mount St Helens backcountry
β° 14 hr 45 min
ππΌββοΈ Out of the 50ish runners who started, only 20 finished the entire 50 miles! Most dropped down to the 50k. This race was so hard with slower times across the board. Maybe it was the humid, foggy morning that turned into a brutally hot and sunny afternoon with minimal aid. Held on backcountry trails, it was mostly me, on my own, in my own head. Even though it was both physically and mentally tough, the views were unmatched!
βοΈ inversion to wildflowers, mountain peaks and miles of huckleberries. The PNW is my favorite place to run in πΊπΈ
