The Circle We Make traces the first, sealed world between a mother and her child, before anyone else belongs to it. These paintings don’t document moments so much as the feeling of being inside that bond, the weight, the warmth, the repetition, the way it folds time and identity back on itself. Painted on silk, a material I associate with safety and softness, the works hold both the tenderness and the overwhelm of that enclosure. It’s a portrait of a private orbit, made from the inside of it.
