It’s the seasons to be poorly – fa la la la laa la la laal aa!
.
Really, it is! But with a few simple tips you CAN help reduce the spread of infections! As Mamas and Doctors we get it; its hard having poorly little ones everywhere but we can ALL do some simple things! Here are our top 5 tips to stop the spread of bugs this winter season
.
✅️Wash your hand with soap – it doesn’t need to be antibacterial! Regular bar of soap is good and a good 20s scrub is all it takes
✅️Catch it, bin it, kill it! – teach your little ones to sneeze into a tissue or their elbow, throw it in the bin and then sanitise/wash their hands after!
✅️Wipe down surfaces! In our house, remote and phones are probably the biggest culprits along with the door handles! Regular ventilation and wiping of surfaces REALLY stops the spread of germs. Sterilising their toothbrush after illness (another surface no one thinks about!)
✅️STAY HOME! If you feel unwell or your little ones do, keep them at home and let them recover. Coughing/sneezing illnesses allow for little droplets of bugs to be transmitted everywhere, making others sick
✅️Consider wearing a mask! Would advise this in particularly crowded spaces and events, particularly in winter when everyone is poorly
.
📍Bonus Tip: Make sure everyone is up to date with vaccinations including the flu! Vaccines are important in stopping infectious diseases and keep our little ones healthy!
.
It can feel relentless this time of year, but practicing simple things can and does help reduce the spread of bugs! Getting ill is part and parcel of growing up and is important for building immunity!
