I can’t believe I won a Deutscher Fernsehpreis, the most prestigious television prizes of Germany together with my amazing sister @bambi_mercury in the category Outstanding Make Up (Envy) and Costume (Bambi) in a television show for Viva La Diva, the German version of Make Up Your Mind! Working on Viva La Diva and Make Up Your Mind has been so humbling. This show shows you that being a professional dragqueen is hard work and that it is more than putting on a wig, lashes and lipstick or doing a twirl while lip-syncing! It takes courage and a lot of skills! It shows you the artform, the magic that it makes people feel and the beauty of drag. In a world that can be very dark, we show light, love and happiness! Our community is beautiful and I’m so happy the mainstream is starting to acknowledge our talents. Acceptance starts with more visibility because we exist and we have so much to offer!
