31 women die every day in the UK from Secondary Breast Cancer. That is 1000 women a month. Women who deserve so much more. Who are screaming to be heard. Who want better treatment options and more funding into clinical trials. Who want more research to go towards secondary breast cancer. Who want to live. Who deserve to live! Secondary Breast Cancer gets one dedicated day in the month of October. One day! This has got to change. We need to collectively use our voices and fight alongside these women. I read this morning on @ohgoshem post that @maryhuckle said if a plane was crashing every month with 1000 women on board it would be headline news. This really hit home! We need to amplify the voices of our secondary sisters. My beautiful mum was 1 of the 31 twelve years ago. A devastating loss. That is happening every day. We are losing our friends in the community. #istandbythe31 today and every day and will keep using my voice to try and make some noise for change 🙏 Please if you have a primary breast cancer diagnosis educate yourself about secondaries. Not to be in fear of it but to empower yourself to push for scans and question things if you need to. It is so tempting to bury our heads in the ground but early detection doesn't just make a difference to a primary diagnosis but can make a difference to the spread of secondary too. Sending so much love to you all today and especially all my secondary friends today. Love you all 💖 @metupuk @futuredreamscharity @breastcancernow #secondarybreastcancerday #metastaticbreastcancer #breastcancerawarenessmonth
