2 days before my son’s 6th birthday… I landed myself in the hospital for the first time since giving birth. I haven’t been sick in years… maybe since Covid. It’s like my body knew I didn’t have time or energy to deal with losing days to an illness. But after running 100 mph for 2 years straight my body finally said slow down. I haven’t had health insurance for almost a year and JUST got it back last month. I put off going to the doctor all day after not feeling good because It was yet another snow day and the kids were out of school. By 3am I had to make the call when I woke up and looked in the mirror to see swelling the size of a baseball on my face and neck. I called my mom and my 12 year old daughter took over until she could get to my house. Thank god I listened to my gut because it could have turned in a really bad situation. And so thankful for an insane support system I have built brick by brick since my separation.. friends came to the rescue and advocated for different meds when others weren’t working. I’m forever grateful for the love and the rest i desperately needed.
