This is a very difficult one. Ellen, I am so lucky to have had such a wonderful, loving, freakin hilarious, beautiful woman in my life. You were the strongest person I have ever known and even when life was kicking your ass, you still were there as a friend, a mother and a damn good chef. Ever since I met you, Spencer and Kathryn when I was 5 years old, you have been such a huge part of my life and growing up wouldn’t have been the same without you in it. I am going to miss you so much. I’m going to miss you whenever I go to Butch McGuire’s for a drink. Whenever I eat pimento cheese or a hot brown. Going to LouLou’s. Christmas Day Yahtzee games. Macon Bacon. Anytime I see someone in a chef jacket which is simply going to be too often. And especially when my mom and Michael visit me in Chicago and you aren’t with them. You were a part of my family. Thank you for being the bestest friend to my mom and Michael. The love that you all shared was magical:,) And thank you for being a wonderful friend to me too.
