The Tour De Colorado was born from a deep desire to explore this beautiful state by the only vehicle I've ever owned: a bicycle. I put together a route, which was originally called Colorado's Best Hits, and sent it to some of my adventure friends as an attempt to recruit them. With little success, I began to plan it as a solo endeavor, until I mentioned it to @adamonthego and he immediately said yes. We then brainstormed creative ideas to get this project out in the world and one of them was to pitch it to Revelate Designs, who picked it up and funded our dreams. Eric dressed our Salsa Cutthroats with the best kit out there and even made custom frame bags with a crazy short notice. @bikepackingcom is featuring this story in the next edition of Bikepacking Journal, with images taken by the both of us and a short story I wrote about the trip. Stoked to see it in print! It's crazy to think that this adventure was almost a year ago. Time flies! As I'm getting ready for another Tour de Colorado (V2.0) , I couldn't help but look back at those images and maaan...can't wait to hop on the road again! This time I developed a 550mi route hitting mountain passes I've never been before as well as roads, trails and towns.
