Shamed to admit... but I used to never follow up after networking events, even when I was truly inspired by the attorneys who spoke. ⁣ ⁣ Even though we are constantly told to network; because I’m an introvert, I never actually follow up or continue those relationships. ⁣I would go to an event, meet a ton of people, and then never talk to them again. 🤦🏾‍♀️ But now, as I’m pursuing my sports and entertainment law dreams, I have been challenging myself to reach out and learn from more experienced attorneys. ⁣ ⁣ And a few weeks back I attended a Sports & Entertainment CLE at the GA bar and I ran into my old Family law professor Randy Kessler . ⁣ ⁣ Even though he doesn’t practice sports and entertainment, he’s often on CNN and represents athletes and entertainers. I shared my dreams with him and in turn he gave me his card and told me to reach out anytime for help.⁣ ⁣ Instead of just letting the card sit on my desk like so many others before, this time I DID! And today I met with him for lunch and was so inspired and encouraged.⁣ ⁣ Let this be a reminder — don’t be afraid to reach out and network! It may seem daunting, but you never know who you will meet or what they will teach you.⁣
