Not only has Shakira given us an extremely fun and catchy new breakup anthem, but the song has also provided us with a hilarious slew of ridiculous publicity fodder between the singer and her ex, Spanish soccer player Gerard Piqué, in the days following its release. Since listening to the track, “BZRP Music Session #53,” Piqué has tried to use the attention to his advantage, wearing a Casio watch and giving the brand a shoutout during a King’s League streaming event, and then rolling up to work in a Twingo for a social media stunt. (The songs lyrics include the lines, “You traded a Ferrari for a Twingo / You traded a Rolex for a Casio”). Meanwhile, Shakira has reportedly doubled down. Though it hasn’t been confirmed, reports claim that she set up a skeleton witch on the balcony of her home, facing the home of Piqué’s mother, and had her new song blasting on repeat.
