Time for Tamdhu ✨ Last week was an amazing week filled with some truly wonderful whiskies. And we started off with an intimate tasting of Tamdhu 43 year old, the first release of The Dedication Collection 🥃 Global Brand Ambassador Gordon Dundas guided us through an insightful tasting. Tamdhu only uses Oloroso Sherry to mature whiskies that goes into their single malt expressions. And to show how its spirits shines with the Sherry casks, he started us on 2 single cask expressions of the same vintage, one in American oak, one in Spanish oak 😋 With the former giving sweetness at the beginning of a sip, the latter releases that sweetness towards the end at the back of your tongue 👍 We then tried the 43 year old, Tamdhu’s oldest expression to date. It’s made with a combination of three casks. 👃 Orange, molasses, star anise, sweet, almond, very vibrant, honey dew melon, raspberry, marmalade. I could’ve nosed this all day 😍 👄 Slight dryness initially, extremely balanced, fresh and vibrant, fruity, dark chocolate without the bitterness, sticky 🤤 Super long finish 👌 This is definitely a dram I would love as an everyday as well as for that special occasion ✨ And with only 100 bottles produced, we are extremely honoured to be amongst the first to try it, and with a big pour at that! 🥃 The Dedication Collection will feature 7 more releases in the next 4-5 years, and if this first one is anything to go by, we’re very excited for the next! ❤️ #slàinte 🥃 #whiskyjourney #singlemaltwhisky #tamdhu #speyside #oldandrarewhisky #oloroso #tastingnotes #whiskytasting #whiskylates
