I’m always humbled by how long it takes to reach to “the middle of nowhere.” Take an icecap on Greenland for example. For me, it took 3 days just to reach the base of a terminal glacier (redeye to Iceland, charter flight to Greenland and a helicopter drop at a terminal moraine). Then we set out on foot, some 70 miles over crevasse broken ice. Finally after 14 days our glacier connected to the icecap. Then the real adventure begins! I couldn’t be more thankful that wild spots this remote still exist and that they remain very hard to reach.
