The most frequent question I could ask online is what kind of training collar I use on the dogs. The answer is very simple. I start with a flat collar. If you start with other kinds of training collars, you’re giving yourself fewer places to go in the future should you need a bigger intervention. I tend to start with a flat color and simply use positive reinforcement techniques & occasional negative reinforcers with the dog. Roy started off a week ago pulling like it was his job to pull. Maybe he thought he was a mushing dog🤷🏼‍♀️😂. With a week of work put into it, he’s already half way to where he needs to be. This reduces the likelihood that his owner will need to rely on a special collar each time he goes for a walk.
