• @sierra Plastic, it’s not fantastic. I had the pleasure of hosting The Global Plastic Crisis conversation during UNGA New York Climate Week. We explored to very real and serious health threats that plastic is causing society at large and featured the voices of the leaders that have dedicated their lives to solving the problem. • @newlight_technologies is creating a natural replacement for plastic placement made from carbon sequestered out of the atmosphere • The Ocean Plastic Leadership Network and The Global Plastic Treaty are working to create a global framework to address plastic production, consumption and pollution • @get_purifico makes personal care products on a mission to reduce single-use plastics one pod at a time • @solgaard creates luggage and high end travel accessories made from ocean bound plastic and supports trash pickers in South East Asia. • @plasticfreefridays is a movement that invites you to reduce your plastic footprint by refusing single-use plastics one day per week. There is no silver bullet to solve the Global Plastic Crisis but the leaders I spoke with this week are making bold moves to make the world a safer and cleaner place, and this is was gives me hope.
