I’m so fortunate to have found a friend and confidante in Juliet Patterson—a fellow queer writer in Minneapolis who published one of the best books I’ve read this year, Sinkhole, which explores the history of suicide in her family. A while back, Juliet asked me to join her for a public conversation about Sinkhole, Unread, and the search for meaning after suicide loss. I haven’t done an event specifically about Unread before, and the idea scared me. But I knew if I was going to give it a try, Juliet would be the perfect person to do it with.
