As we move through perimenopause and into menopause and our hormones and bodies change, we can sometimes feel combative with ourselves and our bodies. It’s often the less tangible symptoms that can feel the most isolating in menopause, purely because they are harder to understand. They may feel like a loss of identity, your self esteem is perhaps at an all time low, your memory is affected, your confidence and vibrancy diminish. The shock of your body’s betrayal and the internal resistance as you fight against change. These are all normal feelings and you are not alone. This week take a moment to pause and to reconnect to yourself, perhaps through meditation, exercise, journaling or somatic movement. What could you do to feel more like yourself?
